biographie !
Duffy, née le 1er juin 1984 en Grande-Bretagne, est une jeune chanteuse galloise de soul qui compose aussi des chansons. Elle a une s½ur jumelle, Katy, et ses parents sont divorcés depuis ses 10 ans. Son goût pour la musique lui vient de son père et de l'émission de rock télévisée Ready Steady Go ! diffusée dans les années 60.

Vers l'âge de 15 ans, Duffy se met à chanter dans plusieurs groupes locaux, à Nefyn (Pays de Galles). En 2003, elle participe à la Nouvelle Star galloise, mais perd en finale contre Lisa Pedrig. En parallèle de la musique, la jeune femme continue ses études à l'Université de Chester et monte un club de jazz et de blues.

En 2004, elle enregistre trois chansons et apparaît dans deux titres de l'album des Mint Royal, tout en accumulant les petits boulots. Petit à petit, Duffy se fait connaître et elle est même comparée par certains à Amy Winehouse.

En 2007, elle signe un contrat avec A&M Records. La jeune chanteuse fait des passages télé remarqués sur les chaînes anglaises.

Son premier album, Rockferry, est sorti en mars 2008, faisant suite aux deux singles, Rockferry et Mercy. Duffy effectue une tournée mondiale avec des dates en Angleterre, en Irlande, au Canada, aux Etats-Unis.
